Cafe RougeCafe Rouge, Trafford Centre - First Floor, The Orient, The Trafford Centre, Manchester, M17 4AA map

Located on the first floor of The Orient, the Trafford Centre’s food court you’ll find Cafe Rouge. Brought to us by the same people that own the bella italia chain. The food is traditional, simple and french and of a good quality. As well as being a restaurant they also have a great selection of drinks and wine which can be ordered with table service. The emphasis is more on eating rather than drinking, but it makes for a nice place to have a quiet drink or chat around a table.

The Commercial Hotel

The Comeercial HotelThe Commercial - Liverpool Road, Castlefield, Manchester, M3 4JR map

  • Situated at the bottom end of Liverpool Street, opposite the old Liverpool Street Station, the first railway station in the world, the commercial hotel is often overlooked.  this is a shame as it is a very friendly local pub.  There’s a homely feel to it with a roaring fire to keep you warm.  The bar has the usual range of pub drinks, real ale and a large projector screen showing the football.  The decor is traditional and one of the few pubs in manchester where you feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s front room.  Wonderful!
  • Real Ale
  • Live Sports (Sky Sports, BBC, ITV, etc)

The Crown

The CrownThe Crown - 89 Fountain Street, Manchester, M2 2EF map

  • A City centre pub, the crown has its fair share of regulars, since the pool tables have gone, its not quite as popular as it was during the day but come the night time when the dj turns up, this place is popular as local party venue that is not quite night club and not quite trendy bar. The drinks on offer are the usual bar fillers, but there is always a drinks promotion on one sort or the other on offer, vodka and redbull anyone?

Cafe Rouge, Printworks

Cafe Rouge ManchesterCafe Rouge - The Printworks, Withy Grove, Manchester, M4 2BS map

  • sitting on the corner of the printworks complex, cafe rouge is brought to us by the same people that own the bella italia chain. The food is traditional, simple and french and of good quality, the drinks are reasonable too and there is a good wine menu on offer. During the day the atmosphere reflects a Parissean cafe bar, especially in the summer when the outside seating is very popular.  As the emphasis is on eating rather than drinking it is better suited for those wanting a quiet drink and chat around a table.

Cafe Rouge, Deansgate

Cafe RougeCafe Rouge - 82 - 84 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 2ER map

A uk chain of bar restaurants, cafe rouge is brought to us by the same people that own bella italia, just a few doors down on Deansagte. The food is traditional, simple and french and of good quality, the drinks are reasonable too and there is a good wine menu on offer.  With the empashis more on the restaurant, the atmosphere is more suited to a quiet sophisticated Parisian cafe bar if it’s just a drink your after.   With great outside seating though, it’s a brilliant place to sit, sip and watch the world go by.

CorbieresCorbieres Manchester - 2 Half Moon Street, Manchester, M2 7PS map

  • Hidden down a back street, just off St Anne Street, between St Anne’s Square and Cross Street, this has to be one of the best kept secret in Manchester.  Once you’ve found the entrance, venture down the uninviting stairs to the dark but welcoming cavenous European style bar below.  Having arguably the best jukebox in town playing everything from blues, motown, punk, rock and indie (with a huge selection of Manc acts), Corbieres is a Manchester institution that attracts an ever expanding regular crowd.  One visit and you’ll be back again!  There’s a good selection of drinks on offer, with bottles from around the world and there’s even a pinball machine.  Superb!
