Bar Fringe

Bar FringeBar Fringe - 8 Swan Street, Manchester, M4 5JN map

  • Not many people know about Bar fringe. It is a well kept secret at the top end of manchester’s northern quarter, maybe a little too far out for some to walk to during their nightly pub crawls. Like it’s sister bar, cask, the exterior tells you nothing of what you will find inside; a great range of fabulous imported beers and some real cask ale to boot. The music is provided by a very well stocked jukebox and there is both a pool table and a pinball machine. The regulars are a friendly bunch and the atmosphere is very, very relaxed. In the height of summer, why not head to the beer garden out the back and truly hide away from the crowds elsewhere in town.

Fab Cafe

Filled under: Bar Reviews - F - manchesterbars 1:54 pm

Fab CafeFab Cafe - 111 Portland Street, Manchester, M1 4RJ map

This has to be one of the quirkiest bars in Manchester, Fab Cafe is themed around science fiction and cult tv. As you enter the bar and your eyes adjust to the darkness you’ll notice a whole host of tv and film props hanging from the ceiling, monster suits, and an alien from Aliens and loads more weird and wonderful stuff. Drinks are quite inexpensive and the atmosphere is usually jumping with clubbers that are just there for the music and a dance rather than out to impress anyone. The dress code is really laid back and one of the least pretentious places in town.
