Situated just a short walk from the MEN Arena is this Tudor style traditional pub. Dating back to 1550, The Old Wellington pub is a Grade Two listed building which is reputed to be one of Manchester’s oldest buildings. Having survived wars and city centre redevelopment, the 1996 IRA bomb forced the building to be painstakingly dismantled and relocated 100 metres closer to the city centre in the new Millennium Quarter

Refurbished in 2006, The Mitre Cafe-Bar is inside the Mitre Hotel located on Exchange Square in the centre of Manchester close to the MEN Arena, The Printworks, and the Harvey Nichols, Selfridges designer stores and the Arndale shopping centre. This popular bar, especially at night time, is surrounded by Sinclairs Oyster Bar, The Old Wellington and Crown & Anchor pubs.

The Crown and Anchor, located in the redeveloped Shambles Square, has been modernised with a newly created drinking area complete with plasma television screens and a jukebox. The dining area has been given a new light and airy design and an exterior seating area has been enlarged for enjoying a drink or two or a meal outdoors during the long summer evenings.
